Local gay artist Timothy Phillips will be showing and selling 30 new works from his new exhibition, “Cloud 9”. In the past his efforts were brought to life in his body of work that contained male couples in non-erotic, everyday compositions. “I wanted my work to show same sex couples engaged in romance and loving relationships, opposed to the stereotypical pornographic idea. The emotional content is very important in my work. From the image I choose, to the mark I make, emotions are the leading ingredient to the completion of each piece. I want the viewer to see my pieces as if they were catching the couple in the midst of their lives, to allow the viewer a glimpse of the normalcy of these lives.” Music provided by local Blues musician, Brad Keeler. 10% of all sales to benefit Spokane Pride 2009.
