Enter one or both of our annual Rainbow Festival contests!
GARDEN COMPETITION
$100 for First place, $75 for Second place and $50 for Third place will be awarded to the top three Fresh Flower arrangements that best follow this year’s theme of “Two Spirits – One Community” based on design, creativity and style. Fresh flowers and or greenery are required. Most importantly, the hope is to bring color and creativity to the day with fresh flowers.
Clearwater Seed is sponsoring the event again this year by awarding cash prizes. Judging will be done by local designers David Peters and Barry James.
In addition to the judged show is the opportunity to bring and display your one favorite indoor or outdoor container plant (violets or bonsai for example) or favorite single stem fresh cut flower or greenery. This part will not be judged, just envied and enjoyed by others for the day. There will be a covered area for the displays in the park, and exhibits should be on site prior to the parade, which begins at 12 Noon, Saturday June 14. Entries must be left on display until 5:30 pm.
Contest Winners names will be announced between 2 and 3 pm.
BAKING CONTEST
“Quest for the Sweetest” GLBTQA Treats is the brand new baking contest during this year’s Rainbow Festival. Celebrity judges will be searching for moist, gooey, and flakey. (We cannot accept entries that need refrigeration.)
OutSpokane will be awarding prizes for the best of each category. You may enter as many cakes, pies, strudel, cookies and bars as you like for the single entry fee of $5.
Make sure your favorite baker knows about this sweet opportunity. S/he could be crowned OutSpokane’s first ever “Pie Queen!” Register below and brush up on those favorite recipes now!
